Easter pictures: As there will be no Easter parish card this year, the parish thanks the children from St Paul’s Primary School for their Easter pictures which are shown here – > Easter card pictures

Celebrate the Easter Triduum: As we know we cannot gather in our church at this time. St Alban’s in Macclesfield and St Peter’s in Hazel Grove are broadcasting their Easter Triduum and Easter Masses live online. Further afield you can watch the broadcasts from the Vatican, see the schedule at The Vatican’s Worldwide Telecasts and the summary at Holy Week Transmission from The Vatican 2020. And you may enjoy the reflective prayers and hymns provided by Dan Schutte and OCP as their contribution to our understanding and celebration of the Easter Triduum -> Dan Schutte and OCP – a virtual celebration of the Easter Triduum.

21st and 22nd March 2020

Weekly newsletter – click here -> 4th Sun of Lent 21st & 22nd Mar 2020 (cyc A) version

As you will see from the attached letter from the Bishop’s Conference CBCEW Public Letter 18th March 2020, a number of exceptional measures are being adopted as coronavirus precautions.

Please note that from this evening, Friday 20th March 2020, all public acts of worship St Paul’s will cease until further notice. You may wish to use these Personal prayers.

Other interim arrangements are listed in this week’s newsletter.

You can help us by telling this news to other St Paul’s parishioners you may be in contact with.

Information: Key pages on the parish website so that you can keep up to date with parish matters are:

Also if you want to see the news from the wider Catholic community, many UK Catholic Diocesan newspapers are available on website www.ChurchPaper.co.uk

Keeping in contact: If you have any urgent queries, please contact the parish office by email or telephone, or the contact form at St Paul’s Contact form. Also, the parish office team will be in the parish office for 2 hours each weekday morning to focus on dealing with phone calls, emails and post; personal visits to the parish office are not definitely not wanted!

We may send out occasional urgent updates by email to those on the parish database. If parishioners have not registered their details on the parish database they can do this using the online form at St Paul’s parish database – online consent form

If you are on the parish database but have not received an email on Friday 20th March 2020, it is likely your details do not contain a valid email address (possibly incorrectly transcribed, or out of date). In this case please re-register using the online form above.

Developments: Over the past two days since the announcement, the parish office team have focused on tackling essential advice you need. Next week the team will seek to get parish arrangements working properly for this period of coronavirus measures.

Living our faith: Perhaps you would like to take a few moments to say the prayer below issued by Bishop Mark recently. We are reliably informed that the prayer is from the European Episcopal Conferences (with a link to the Lourdes Novena).

God our Father, Creator of the world, almighty and merciful,
out of love for us You sent your Son into the world as the doctor of our souls and our bodies, look upon your children who, in this difficult time of confusion and dismay in many regions of Europe and the world, turn to you seeking strength, salvation and relief, deliver us from illness and fear, heal our sick, comfort their families, give wisdom to our rulers, energy and reward to our doctors, nurses and volunteers, eternal life to the dead. Do not abandon us in the moment of trial but deliver us from all evil.
We ask this of Thee, who with the Son and the Holy Spirit, live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.
Mary, mother of health and hope, pray for us!
