Mass and prayers from St Paul’s Church

Summary details -> Poynton Post

  • Wednesday Mass at 9:30am: broadcast using Facebook Live. This starts at 9:15am with prayers, followed by Mass at 9:30am -> Facebook Live or in the Facebook App search for “Mass at St Paul’s RC Church”.
  • Sunday Mass at 10am:
    • Under the revised UK Government regulations, from Sunday 6th December the church will be open for attendance at this 10am Mass on Sunday. The usual telephone booking arrangements are in place if you wish to attend, and the Mass will also be available on Facebook -> Facebook Live 
    • Please see the weekend’s parish newsletter for more details.
    • To join us in church on 6th December you must book during the previous week, see for more details -> Booking a seat and other arrangements; if you have booked a seat in church please remember to arrive no earlier than 10:45pm, bring and wear a face covering, and see the Stewards at the front door before entering the church. 
    • Please wrap up warmly – the church windows and doors are ajar to satisfy our risk assessment in order to be allowed to remain open. So please layer up if you’re attending!
    • You can also plan to join us on -> Facebook Live
  • If you have an up to date smartphone such as an iPhone, Samsung, Sony etc please use the new NHS COVID-19 app to protect you; this includes contact tracing, local area alerts and venue check-in. Details are online > NHS Covid-19 details. St. Paul’s Church is displaying Posters with the “QR code” should you wish to ‘check in’ when you join us in Church. The parish office will continue to retain copies of church attendance registers for 21 days for any needed tracing purposes.
  • Volunteer help needed: Thank you for your messages of support expressing how much you’ve enjoyed sharing our Masses and thanks to the volunteers who are enabling us to open. WE DO NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS (under 70), could you help? If so, contact the parish office or email.

THE BIG GIVE 2020: On Christmas Eve the Cre8 team plan to distribute gifts and food to households on the Moss Estate and wider across Macclesfield. They will welcome anybody willing to volunteer some of their time on Christmas Eve to help with sorting and distributing food and gifts. See -> Cre8 Appeal Poster

St Paul’s parish update

  • St. Paul’s Parish Newsletter -> Our Lord Jesus Christ King of The Universe – 22nd Nov 2020 (cyc A)

  • Wednesday Word for the coming week -> Wednesday Word Wednesday Word is updated each week as a useful sheet for families to read through.
  • Weekday Mass Sheet, to help you if you are joining in with the daily masses streamed from St Alban’s and St Paul’s. However, due to current COVID-19 situation, the Weekday Mass Sheets have been suspended until further notice.
  • National Day of Prayer on 21st November, praying for the end of the pandemic -> Diocese of Shrewsbury – National Day of Prayer Resource – Nov 2020
  • November Souls Service: The Service this year will be held on Tuesday, 24th November, 2020, at 7pm (apologies for the wrong day of the week being shown previously). Due to Covid 19 precautionary measures, this will be a Virtual Service only.

St Paul’s parish update

  • Virtual Retreat on 21st November for Ministers of the Word
    Eucharistic Ministers, Catechists; EVERYONE welcome! All Ministers of the Word (Readers) and Eucharistic Ministers are
    requested to have a retreat at least once a year. This year our retreat
    will use ZOOM. To register and to get the ZOOM link please email eventstalban@gmail.com and with the subject containing your parish’s’ name and the following: Ministers’ retreat 21st November 2020. More detail is in this weekend’s newsletter.

Note that the St. Alban’s Wednesday Prayer Session will be discontinued after 9th Sept. 2020 and the booking slot will be removed from the booking calendar.  Sunday 6.30pm Mass will also be suspended until further notice.
