Participating in Adoration
The bishops of England and Wales will hold a National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Congress in Liverpool 7–9 September 2018.
As part of the preparatory information, the Spirituality Committee has written a series of reflections on the ways we participate in Adoration. Each leaflet considers a posture or attitude of prayerful participation and includes: scripture, image, prayer and reflection. Commemoration to give thanks for the people who were involved in World War 1: November 10th

In November this year, St Joseph’s Parish in Stockport are having a commemoration to give thanks for the people who were involved in World War 1.

Background: On November 10th this year, St Joseph’s parish  are having a commemorative centenary anniversary evening as a thank you to the people who fought or who were involved in World War One. In 1800, the population in Stockport was 14,830; including 300 catholics. Around 1850, the catholic number had risen to 8,000 The population density was in St. Joseph’s areas of St Petersgate, Lord Street, Hillgate, Lower Brinnington, Bredbury Hall St and some of Offerton. By 1935, the population moved away from the centre. The results were the new parishes of St Ambrose, Our Lady & St Christopher, St Bernadette’s, St Philips and St Vincent’s.

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Wed 15th August, (on Wednesday) is a holyday of obligation and there will be mass in church at 9.30am.
